The King’s Award for Voluntary Service
At the end of 2023 Shropshire Child Contact Centres were awarded the highest award a local voluntary group can achieve in the UK.
It was recognised that SCCC provide a unique and vital service facilitating contact between children and parents during the emotional and stressful time after family breakdown. We were immensely proud that our volunteers’ dedicated work over many years was recognised.
As a big thank you to them we held a celebratory afternoon tea when the Lord Lieutenant of Shropshire presented our certificate and individual badges.
This followed another celebratory day at the Cavalier Equestrian Centre near Much Wenlock when her Highness the Princess Royal presented our crystal award. She spoke positively of the work we do.
Children in Need Award
In 2024 we were delighted to receive a grant from the BBC Children in Need fund, enabling us to expand and update the work we do. This boost to our funds has enabled us to launch our brand new website and to streamline our service so that we can reach out to more families throughout Shropshire. We have also expanded our support, offering bespoke help to families who need it.
