Meet our Managers & Trustees

Meet our Trustees

Our trustees are a group of dedicated volunteers who help guide and support our organisation. They make sure we stay true to our values, use our funds wisely, and plan carefully for the future.

Contact Centre Volunteer

I started volunteering at the Shrewsbury Contact Centre since 2011, I’ve since become a trustee of the charity, too. When looking for a volunteer role, Shropshire Child Contact Centres appealed to me the most because it helps families. Outside of volunteering, I like to spend time with friends and family, and I like to borrow other peoples dogs and go for long walks.

Pat

Chair of the Management, Trustee and Volunteer

I’ve been involved with Shropshire Child Contact Centres for more than 20 years. I am the Chair of our Management Team and I work with the other volunteers ensuring the smooth running of our centres . I also contribute to our ongoing training and fundraising. I worked professionally with families struggling with the aftermath of family breakdown witnessing first hand the negative impact on children when relationships with parents end. SCCC helps so many children to reconnect with the parents no longer living with them . I’m passionate about offering our help to many more families. Now retired, I love walking with my partner, the countryside and wildlife, reading, and adventures with my grandchildren.

I qualified in accountancy in 2009 and have ran Aspire Accountancy in Shrewsbury since 2014. I’m a runner, a single mum to two adult girls, and I’m also a grandma. Family is absolutely everything to me. I believe that children should have as much support and guidance as is possible.

Contact Centre Manager

I have been contact centre manager for nearly 30 years. Over the years there have been many changes but I haven’t changed my desire to help all children have contact with both parents.

What type of contact do you want to organise?

    Supervised

An environment where the child spends time with the non-resident parent or caregiver in the presence of a supervisor. The supervisor observes the interaction and may take notes about the visit. Reports may be shared with courts or other professionals if required. Sessions are usually booked and charged per visit.

Supported (trained volunteers are present at all times)

A welcoming environment where children can spend time with their non-resident parent or caregiver. Families share a room with other parents and children. Trained volunteers are present to offer support, help manage arrivals and departures, prevent parents from meeting if needed, and maintain a safe and comfortable environment for everyone.

If you’re still not sure, you can read more about these types of contact here.
